OCEAN CITY — Police announced today the arrests of four Delmarva men whom they say participated in a scheme spanning several states to sell oxycodone pills, also known as Oxycontin.
Arrested were Gene Sams, 38, of Ocean City; Brian West, 27, of Salisbury; Tyler Hays, 22, of Ocean City; and John Tarr, 28, of Fenwick Island. All were charged with offenses relating to the possession and/or distribution of oxycodone.
The arrests stem from the indictment and arrest of a New Jersey man, Joseph Bimonte, 45, who was the main target of an OCPD investigation that began in April 2007, police said.
The Drug Enforcement Agency collaborated with Ocean City police in the investigation.
Police said 600 pills, worth some $20,000, were seized in the investigation.
